KEY DATES

Tuesday 23 January – Parental Training on Sensory Processing in school led by Middletown (7pm)

Monday 18 March – School closed for St Patrick’s Day Holiday

Open Evenings & Online Applications

Our Open Evenings are scheduled for Wednesday 10 January and Thursday 11 January from 4.00 – 6.00pm.  If you know anyone who is considering applying for a Year 1 place for their child and would like a tour of the school, please encourage them to come.  Alternatively individual appointments can be booked by emailing Mr Sterritt on ksterritt616@c2kni.net or phoning the school on 02882244552. 

Year 1 Applications must be completed online.  The application procedure opens via the online portal on Tuesday 9 January and closes on Friday 26 January at 12noon.  Please note all applications must upload the child’s Birth Certificate.

After School Activities

After school activities for Year 1-3 pupils from 2.00pm – 3.00pm will run from Monday 15 January – Monday 12 February inclusive.  We will provide more details about activities and how to apply next week.

Friday additional activities from 2.00pm – 3.00pm for Year 4-7 pupils will begin on Friday 12 January. Again, further details will be issued in the coming days.

Year 1 3 Parent Teacher Interviews

Our parental consultations are scheduled to take place on Monday 5 February – Wednesday 7 February inclusive.  Face to face interviews will last approximately 15 minutes.  This is an important opportunity for you to discuss your child’s progress with their class teacher.  We aim to conduct these from each afternoon from 2.15pm – 4.30pm.  A letter will be sent home in the coming days/weeks regarding this. 

 

Y7 Transfer Interviews & SEAG Results

All Year 7 parents must complete their application for Post Primary School online before Thursday 22 February at 12noon.  Mr Sterritt will meet any parent who wishes to discuss pupil progress, Post Primary placement and the online application process. Details will be sent home next week.

SEAG results will be distributed on Saturday 27 January.  Any parent who wishes to discuss their result (or receive it if your post is late) should email ksterritt616@c2kni.net that morning and he will phone you back.

 

School Mobile Number

We now have a school mobile for contacting Busy Bee Club.  Any phone calls after 4.00pm should be made to this number 07359710943. We would advise storing this number for future reference as it will also be used for school trips and other outings.

 

Post Primary School Forthcoming Open Days/Nights – please note the following dates:

·         Drumragh Integrated College – Thursday 16 January at 6.00pm

·         Omagh High School – Thursday 23 January – 1.30 – 4.00pm and 4.00 – 6.30pm

·         Omagh Academy – Thursday 1 February at 6.30pm

 

Union Strike Action

We have been informed that teaching and non-teaching unions have called a day of action on Thursday 18 January.  Consequently, unless there are other developments school will be closed on this date.

 

Free Healthy Breaks

We understand how challenging January can be for families; therefore, we have partnered with the District Council and McBride’s Spar shops and will be providing free healthy breaks for all pupils from Monday 15 January for three weeks.  More details will follow.
